I Need To Paint My Office in Bundall
We recently completed an office painting job in Bundall, giving the place a fresh new look with white walls and black aluminium frames and skirtings.
The walls were painted in Dulux White Polar Quarter Low Sheen, while the aluminium frames and skirtings were finished in black matt.
The aluminium needed a fair bit of prep before we could spray it. We degreased and cleaned everything, applied one coat of X1 Edge Primer, then sprayed two coats of the black finish.
We painted the walls first, then taped and masked everything up properly before spraying the aluminium. This gave us a nice, straight edge between the white walls and black frames.

What Did We Paint at This Bundall Office?
This job involved painting the office walls, aluminium frames and skirtings.
The walls were going white, while the aluminium was being changed to black. Because we were using two completely different colours, getting the preparation and order of the job right was important.
What Colour Did We Use on the Office Walls?
For the walls, we used Dulux White Polar Quarter in Low Sheen.
It’s a clean, light colour that works well in an office and gives the room a fresh feel without being too stark.

Can You Paint Aluminium Office Frames Black?
Yep, you can paint aluminium frames, but you can’t just grab a tin of paint and slap it on.
The aluminium needs to be properly cleaned and prepared first so the new coating has a good surface to stick to.
For this job, we degreased and cleaned all the aluminium before moving onto the primer.

How Did We Prepare the Aluminium?
First, we degreased the aluminium and gave it a thorough clean.
This removed dirt, grease and other contaminants from the surface before the primer went on.
Once everything was clean and ready, we applied one coat of X1 Edge Primer.
How Many Coats Did We Put on the Aluminium?
After the X1 Edge Primer, we applied two coats of black to the aluminium frames and skirtings.
The final colour was black matt, which gave the frames a sharp contrast against the White Polar Quarter walls.
Why Did We Paint the Walls Before the Aluminium?
We painted the walls first because the aluminium was going to be sprayed.
Once the walls were finished, we taped and masked them properly before starting on the black frames.
This meant we could spray the aluminium without covering the freshly painted white walls in black overspray. It also helped us get a nice clean line where the white wall meets the black frame
